Register for our May Show and Tell Webinar
CCP-volumeEM is pleased to invite you to the next webinar in its Show & Tell series, a 60-minute online talk with Chris Barnes (German BioImaging) on Tuesday 19th May at 12:30pm (BST).
In this talk, Chris will introduce OME-Zarr, a next generation file format for FAIR bioimaging data. As bioimaging datasets become larger and more complex, researchers increasingly need formats and metadata standards that support cloud storage, interoperability, and scalable analysis. The session will explore how NGFF provides an open-source, community-driven approach to these challenges, building on Zarr, a cloud-native format for large array data of any dimensionality. Chris will discuss how OME-Zarr enables findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable bioimaging data, with broad and growing tool support.
Registration is now open: https://crick.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_NXjdh0I3SQS7P1V-2jLGag
Chris Barnes is a research software engineer with German BioImaging, where he works directly on the OME-Zarr specification and supports development across the NGFF and Zarr ecosystems. He studied Physiology, Development and Neuroscience and Systems Biology at the University of Cambridge, before working as a software developer in industry and later at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Janelia Research Campus in Albert Cardona’s group. There, he developed tools and infrastructure for analysing terabyte-scale volume electron microscopy data for connectomics.
